Potomac River - September 15-16, 2007 Classic Results

The inaugural Potomac River Bass Series Fall Classic Championship is in the books, and what a great 2 day event it was!! Thirty - four teams were in competition for a total cash purse of $15,450.00!!!. The conditions on "The River" were super tough and the results were very close. After two days of intense fishing and the teams looking for that one big bite to make the difference, the results were determined and we are proud to crown Rick Robertson and John Ausberry Fall Classic Champions!!!!

Congratulations to Rick Robertson and John Ausberry for their victory and the first place prize of $6,500.00!!!! Rick and John were in 3rd place after day one, just 3.43 pounds out of the lead and were poised to make a day two run. And what a run they made, all the way to a very lucrative 6.5K payday!! Rick and John posted a 2 day total of 24.02 pounds under tough conditions to claim the prestigious Fall Classic Champion Title. Rick and John have been a great long time team and their consistency paid off in a big way over two days of tough fishing. Great job guys and once again congratulations for a job well done!! 

Steve Starkey and Richard Bright were the Day 1 leaders and also posted the Day 1 Big Fish. Steve and Richard have been consistent all year and were the only team to post multiple regular season victories. Congratulations to this great duo as they finished a very close second with a 2 day total of 22.68 pounds. Steve and  Richard won a very nice $3,340.00 for their efforts to cap off a great year.

Gary Schembs and Karl Mastrup capped a great year with a solid third place finish. Gary and Karl posted the Day 2 top weight of 14.48 pounds to come from 20th place to claim the $1,500.00 third place prize money. Gary and Karl finished with a 2 day total of 21.07 pounds. Great "never give up" attitude guys as the Season Lunker winners fished hard to the end and were rewarded for their efforts.

Tony Kronebusch and Bill Thompson finished fourth with a 2 day total of  20.80 pounds and won $1,000.00 for their efforts. Tony and Bill were consistent both days and we wish to give them a big thumbs up for their efforts.

Jason Krause and Michael Kruse finished 5th with a 2 day total of 19.74 pounds to claim the $800.00 payday. Great job guys as this top 20 team posted a fantastic Classic finish.

Sixth place went to Jeff parrish and Cecil Perin with 19.25 pounds and was good for $500.00. Good job guys.

John Robinson and Donovan Taylor were 7th with 19.18 pounds to win $400.00. Good work men.

Dennis Tate and Leroy Harriet were 8th and posted the Day 2 Big Fish of 4.87 pounds along with the second heaviest Day 2 weight of 14.24 pounds. Dennis and Leroy won $720.00 for their great effort.

Mike Bradley and Mike Chipouras finished ninth with 18.21 pounds to win $360.00. Way to go guys.
 
Dennis Mcneal and John Cary finished tenth with 17.37 pounds to win $330.00. Way to go Dennis and John.

Charlie Munday and Larry Drewett were 11th with 17.34 pounds and won a $250.00 Bass Pro Shops Gift Certificate.

Brad Lear and Chad Bell were 12th with 17.02 pounds and won a $250.00 Bass Pro Shops Gift Certificate.

Larry Strong and Alan Maroney were 13th with 15.13 pounds and won a custom Save Phace Sport Utility Mask.
